About

The map of the War Memorials in Sewickley was created by Mikaela Felix for her Personal Project at Quaker Valley High School. This map includes the war memorials in the Quaker Valley District from the municipalities of Glenfield, Edgeworth, Osborne, Sewickley Hills, Leet Township, Leetsdale, Sewickley, Haysville, Bell Acres, and Sewickley Heights.

War memorials are the town’s unique way of giving appreciation and honor to those that served in past wars. They are historical touchstones that once gathered together and presented in one source that will be easily reached by the public. People will be able to understand the history of the town with a better meaning.

This website can be used as a resource and tool for tourists visiting the area and that they may want to learn specific parts of the town’s history through these monuments scattered throughout the area. Anyone that has served during war time would have their name on a certain monument.

Those visiting these sites may or may not have connection to someone who has participated in past conflicts. People can pay respect to those fallen soldiers on the honor roll or to view the name of a family member that has participated.

This map features color-coded markers based off the war it is in honor of and includes a picture and information like the date it was built, the location, the coordinates, the war, and the history behind the dedication. Those that are honor rolls features all the names in the information part. Contact qv19.felixm@qvmail.org if you have questions.

This project is dedicated to the men and women who have served this country in a selfless and valiant manner.
